Pryde Capital Advisors was founded by Andrew Pryde, Joshua Powell and Matthew Kendrick with the vision of providing New Zealand businesses with access to an array of debt products and a goal to ensure that borrowers are receiving optimal debt capital structures, terms and pricing.
Together, Andrew, Josh, and Matt have over 40 years’ experience in corporate and institutional banking markets, both in New Zealand and overseas. We are New Zealanders who are passionate about New Zealand and supporting New Zealand businesses to grow and prosper.

Andrew has over 20 years banking experience across corporate and institutional banking. Prior to forming Pryde Capital Advisors, Andrew was Head of Corporate Finance in Institutional Banking at ANZ Bank New Zealand, responsible for portfolio management, origination and structuring of all forms of corporate loan products for mid-sized and corporate customers.
Prior to ANZ Bank, Andrew spent 13 years in London with UK Banks, specialising in cross-border finance and asset finance with an expertise in innovative capital market products and customized solutions for corporate and institutional clients. Prior New Zealand experience included Deloitte and Fay, Richwhite & Company Limited.
Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and a member of CAANZ.
Josh Powell

Josh has over 10 years of banking experience in the corporate market and mid-market across New Zealand and London. Prior to forming Pryde Capital Advisors, Josh was an Associate Director in ANZ Bank’s Corporate Finance team.
Josh spent four years in London with Santander Bank focusing on deal structuring and credit risk across a range of loan products including mezzanine and distressed debt. Josh has extensive experience in transaction origination and structuring loans ranging from working capital solutions to large multi-bank borrowing structures.
Josh is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute and holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Commerce.

Matt has over 5 years corporate and institutional banking experience, having previously spent time in the legal sector with Chapman Tripp. Prior to forming Pryde Capital Advisors, Matt was a Manager in ANZ Corporate Finance
Matt has extensive experience in financial modelling and the origination, structuring and execution of M&A and leveraged buyout transactions. In addition, his experience extends to structuring tailored working capital solutions as well as growth CAPEX/Project Finance funding for New Zealand corporate and institutional borrowers.
Matt has broad industry experience across the New Zealand market with particular interest and knowledge of the food and beverage, and viticulture industries. Matt graduated from University of Auckland with conjoint Law and Commerce degrees specialising in Commercial Law and Finance.
